FAQ & Product care
What are UNQUIET products made from?
UNQUIET pieces are handmade using collected and donated plastic. The materials are transformed by hand into useful, characterful pieces rather than being used in their original form.
Because the materials available can change, each product may have its own colours, textures and details.
Is every piece unique?
Every UNQUIET piece is handmade, so small differences will always exist.
Some designs are completely one of a kind, while others, such as the Confetti Bags, can be reproduced using similar materials and the same making process.
Reproduced designs may look almost identical at first glance, but subtle variations in colour, texture, pattern placement and handmade details make each piece individual.
Will I receive the exact product shown in the photos?
If a product is described as one of a kind and ready to ship, you will receive the exact piece shown in the photos.
Some designs can be reproduced in a closely similar style. They may look almost identical to the photographed piece, but small differences are part of the materials and handmade process.
Please check the individual product description to see whether you are purchasing the exact piece shown or a reproduced version.
What does “reproduced in a similar style” mean?
It means that the same design can be handmade again when suitable materials are available.
The reproduced piece will follow the same overall design and may look very similar to the original. However, slight differences in colour, texture, pattern placement and handmade details may occur.
These variations are part of what makes each UNQUIET piece individual.
How long does it take to make a piece?
Each piece is handmade slowly and thoughtfully.
Ready-to-ship products are usually dispatched within 2–3 business days. Reproduced, made-to-order or custom pieces generally take around two weeks to make, depending on the current volume of orders and the availability of suitable materials.
Shipping time is additional and depends on the destination.
Can I request a custom piece?
Custom requests may be available depending on the design, the availability of suitable materials and my current order volume.
Custom pieces generally take around two weeks to make, although this may vary depending on the request and the volume of orders.
An additional customisation fee applies and will be confirmed before work begins. Please get in touch before placing your order to discuss your idea, availability, timing and final price.
Can custom or made-to-order pieces be returned?
We do not accept change-of-mind returns.
Custom and made-to-order pieces are not eligible for a refund once production has begun, unless the item arrives damaged or faulty.
If there is an issue with your order, please contact me as soon as possible with clear photos so I can assess it and find an appropriate solution.
This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Are handmade variations considered faults?
No. Small variations and irregularities are a natural part of the handmade process and contribute to the individual character of each piece.
Because UNQUIET products are made from collected and donated plastic, traces of the material’s original form may sometimes remain visible, including fragments of printing, lettering, colours, seams or other markings.
These details are not faults. They are part of the material’s history, the transformation process and the story of the finished piece.
Are UNQUIET products vegan?
UNQUIET was created after I chose a vegan lifestyle and began looking for a different way to continue making.
The pieces are made without leather, using collected and donated plastic as the main creative material.
Product Care
Every UNQUIET piece is made by hand and should be treated with care.
To help your piece last:
- Wipe it gently with a soft, damp cloth after it gets dirty. Cleaning it promptly helps prevent dirt from building up and extends its useful life.
- Allow it to air dry naturally in the shade.
- Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron.
- Keep it away from fire, open flames and hot surfaces.
- Your piece can be used outdoors and at the beach. When not in use, avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Use the piece only for its intended purpose.
- Store it in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Because different collected materials may be used, always check the individual product description for any specific care instructions.
Do you repair UNQUIET pieces?
Yes. Repair is part of UNQUIET’s commitment to keeping each piece in use for as long as possible. Whenever a repair is practical, I would rather repair a piece than see it discarded.
If a product develops a fault, please contact me with clear photos and a brief description of the issue. If the problem is confirmed as a material or workmanship fault, the repair will be completed free of charge.
Damage caused by extended use, general wear and tear, accidents or misuse may still be repairable, but a repair fee may apply depending on the work and materials required.
Please contact me before sending anything. Once I have assessed the piece, I will confirm whether it can be repaired, the expected timeframe and any applicable repair or shipping costs before proceeding.
This repair service is provided in addition to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
